Kylie Minogue-The impossible princess
The Australian child star who become the world renowned pop singer, Kylie Minogue, was born to an accountant father and a dancer mother. At a very young age she decided she needed to be a performer and hence herself and her sister started auditioning for roles on the television. So her childhood had always consisted of her acting in theatre shows, television commercials and plays where she got unaccredited roles. She got her first big-time recognition with the lead single “locomotion” which sold over five million copies and became the biggest hit single of the decade. Her consequent singles which followed were massive successes and her first movie also topped the box office. She was offered major roles in many movies but she turned them down to pursue interests in other areas than acting.
Kylie was becoming a big sensation with her projecting a very down to earth “girl next door” image. After the first few releases her sales started declining and she realized that she had to do something to beat the down going popularity. This was mainly due to her image that had people thinking that she was just using her popularity from TV serials to get off with a good singing career and that she did not have an actual talent. That’s when she decided to put her sensual side to use and all the albums that followed this had her baring a lot of skin in her costumes.
Kylie has admitted that she doesn’t believe in crash diets to maintain her thin figure but she did feel insecure about her body shape every now and then. Kylie’s never been the one to fall under the pressures of maintaining a thin figure to fit into the music industry, instead prefers to maintain a healthy living by working out and eating right. She admits that it takes a lot of hard work and tight fitness regime to stay in shape and perform efficiently
Kylie was diagnosed with cancer in the early months of 2005 during her touring season for which she underwent chemotherapy and medication. Her condition has been pronounced as completely cured as of now. This period of her hospitalization and her treatment got wide coverage on the news all over the world, and her experience with cancer and her frank talks about it have made young people more aware of the effects and prevention of the deadly disease. Kylie in an interview said that undergoing chemo treatment was like being bombed by the nuclear. Her tryst with cancer made her more empathetic towards those suffering from it and she even contributed funds to hospitals that cared for cancer patients.
Kylie has now come fighting back and we are so glad she has. She has stunned us with many great outfits and jewellery we could only wish for. It is believed she likes the latest range of charm bracelet , maybe Pandora or lovelinks would suit this stylish icon!
